An occult society dedicated to all that has been lost, and what may yet return.

Towers of the Dove is a secondary Winter-aligned cult, like the Children of Silence, but unlike the Children of Silence, the Towers of the Dove is dedicated to all that has been lost, and what may yet return. Its founders can promote the followers of the Winter aspect to its tenth rank (Those who are Silent). It is only possible to create the Towers of the Dove within the Medium? Legacy. It is created by adding formula: Elixer Zeboim? as the founding principles (doctrine) when creating a cult.

Strategy[ | ]

As with the Children of Silence, the Towers of the Dove is a cult that relies on Winter and shares many strengths with the Church of the Bright Edge, but has a different driving goal: aiding the founder in his transformation into a ghoul, an undead being that represents an alternative form of immortality than ascension to Long-hood. Winter-lore is not very common but neither is it very uncommon, and the magnitude-eight Winter tool can be found inside the Forgotten Mithraeum, a vault In the Capital. This makes it simple to promote your Winter cultists fairly early, with a little luck.

Murder a Stranger[ | ]

The Winter cult business is Murder a Stranger, which, if successful, rewards you with 1 Funds, A Human Corpse, and two random other treasures, the full list of which is contained below:

Deception and Confusion
Burglary Rewards

(Note that Funds, Iron Spintria, and Jumble are much more common results of hoodwinking than ingredients and Bronze Spintria)

With one of your Winter-cultists exalted to one who is silent, the success rate for Murdering is 90%. It's a good way of raising emergency funds, but the Notoriety acquisition builds up much too quickly to be relied upon as income. The Corpses, on the other hand, will provide Memories that can be used both to gain funds with A Reputation as a Medium and to Talk with Miss Naenia, both of which are critical for progression as the Medium? Legacy.

Other Strengths[ | ]

Winter followers are good at destroying Hunters. While they have a lower success rate than Edge-cultists, they will not die on a failure. Given that there are only two named (nameless, rather) they who are silent, this means that you can take risks with them you otherwise couldn't.

Winter has a limited use on expeditions. It can be used to defeat The Fifth Eye Curse, destroy The Fretful Dead, or cross The High Passes. Generally speaking, Forge or Edge will serve you better.

Winter's major summon is the Maid-in-the-Mirror, a 10 Edge/10 Winter summon which will serve you very well in expeditions or in getting rid of annoyances and Hunters. The Risen also count as Remnants and subsequently can be used to reduce Graveyard Mouth and "preserve" corpses from decaying or being magnet-pulled by Hunters. However, they yield Influences when consumed instead of Memories.

Victory[ | ]

The Towers of the Dove is designed to achieve either a Palest Victory or a Fruitfulness Anti-Victory, rather than the inaccessible Ascension victories. The Medium? Legacy needs a steady supply of corpses to neutralize Graveyard Mouth in addition to using them for Memories, and the other societies cannot accumulate them quickly enough even with constant Prisoner acquisition.

'Now you shed your blood, as the Sun's blood was shed. Now your past is divided from your future, as the Wolf was divided. You were not born. Your service ends only in dissolution. Arise, in silence.'
