Rites are cards used with the work verb to perform Rituals. The Rite used has no effect on the Ritual to be cast; Rites just determine what types of cards you can draw Influences from, and the Influences then determine the Ritual. They all, with one exception, have 4 slots (one for Lore; two of Tool, Ingredient, Influence, or Follower; and your Desire, if you're Ascending) and sacrifice one of them. It is not required to place something in each slot as long as a Rituals minimum requirements are met.
Any text listed in Bold is consumed in the Rite.
