Book of Hours is a game created by Alexis Kennedy and Lottie Bevan, who together comprise Weather Factory. It is set within the same universe as Cultist Simulator, and involves working as a librarian in an occult library. The game has completed beta testing and was released on August 17, 2023.

In the first week of sales, purchasers were offered 'Perpetual Edition' giving access to all future expansions provided for free, at no extra cost.

Description[]

Book of Hours is a single-player digital board game in which the player takes on the role of an occult librarian. Gameplay is more laid-back than Cultist Simulator, but still requires careful board management. Books can be acquired through traditional or more underhanded means, restored, purified of curses, and studied to reveal their mysteries, while visitors can be craftily guided to influence their paths and stories.[1]

Notes[]

  • The idea of Book of Hours began as a joke posted by Alexis Kennedy on Twitter for an "extremely relaxed Cultist Simulator expandalone".[1]
  • A Kickstarter for the game was originally planned to launch on September 3, 2019, but it was later cancelled.

[2]Weather Factory subsequently won funding from the European Union to complete the project, and a new launch date for Book of Hours in 2023 was announced.[3]
